However, I do feel that the Bush Administration dropped the ball when the Justice department settled its case against Microsoft. The company wields a great deal of power ? and they don?t hesitate to use it in some underhanded ways. Right now Opera is the biggest commercial web browser competition for Microsoft. It looks like someone at Microsoft is back to the sneaky tricks. On MSN (Microsoft Network) sites, they seem to be sending broken pages to users using Opera. You can read the news story at The Register. You can also read Opera’s investigation of the problem.

Note: Just a quick update. It seems that Opera isn’t the only one compaining about http://www.microsoft.com" title="Microsoft" target="_blank">Microsoft. Sun and http://www.ibm.com" title="IBM" target="_blank">IBM both claim that Microsoft is only allowing information on their servers to be accessed easily by Microsoft branded portable devices like cell phones and PDAs. You can check out the Reuters story at Yahoo! Info on Any Device, but Only if It’s Windows
